Ryan Peavey's Return
I'm more than a little nervous about it.
Remember Nathan West? Cute, clean-cut, sexy, Detective West? Sure you do. He was wonderful. He showed up in 2013 (the year we began snarking) as a love interest for Maxie Jones, and eventually found himself kinda related to half the town.
He came in to snoop on Silas Clay (oh, we are really shaking the GH tree with that one!) because he thought Silas had put his sister, Nina, in a coma. Well, as it always does, it turns out his mom is Liesl Obrecht, his dad is Faison, and he’s Britta’s brother. (He and Britta almost did the deed, but fortunately someone intervened, or they retconned it, or something.)
He’s also related to Nelle and Willow through his aunt Nina, and he’s James’ dad.
January 31, 2018, Nathan West died of complications from a gunshot wound.
Fast forward to yesterday, when we learned that Ryan Peavey is returning to GH.
Here’s where my nervousness comes in: If he comes back as Nathan West (which, honestly, is the only thing that makes sense), what does that mean for Maxie and Spinelli?
Look, I want Maxi front and center in her own story. She’s been the talk-to woman for far too long. But, once again, we’re looking at a terrifically messy love triangle, and I don’t want any of them to get hurt.
Nathan returning now that we have a not-quite-dead Britt hanging out in Croatia sounds like fun. I look forward to Liesl being reunited with her son.
So, I guess I’m torn about the Nathan West Resurrection. On the one hand, he would make a great addition to this weird Five Poppies Storyline (OMG, is HE the Big Boss?), and on the other hand, Maxie and Spinelli have made a life together, and a Nathan resurrection would mess things up for them.
How do you feel about Ryan Peavey making a return to GH? Do we need more Hallmark actors, or is Cameron Mathison enough? Inquiring minds want to know.
LOVE that Paevey's returning, but would hate for Maxie and Spinelli to break up. I wonder how they'll explain his return (if he's corporal vs. a ghost or flashback), since we all saw him die on-screen.
Not excited at all…we’ve brought enough people back from the dead this month. Unless, of course it’s been the devilishly delicious Dr. David Hayward behind all of this…then FULL SPEED AHEAD!
