Steak and Lattes
Week of April 27-May 1, 2026
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM….:
1.) Sidwell keeps encouraging the triangle with Lucy and Ava. Has he slept with either of them yet?
2.) How do Isaiah and Willow know each other? This recapper is confused.
3.) Krissy makes a big deal about a tennis court named in honor of Lucas’ boyfriend, Marco. But wasn’t she kicked out of her job at the Foundation or Center or whatever they are calling it this week, and she’s certainly NOT on the board? How can she make these decisions?
4.) How big was that one glass of wine that Brook Lynn imbibed? Because she was stumbling around.
5.) Where’s the urgency? Why didn’t Nathan run to LuLu the minute he found out that Rocco admitted all to Britt?
6.) It’s amazing how a professional musician can book a gig in a faraway town less than two days before the gig and all the publicity got out and the place is packed. Michael James Scott, being in Aladdin, would only have Monday night off and doubtfully would not leave the city for a performing gig.
WHAT HAPPENED?: Lucy is happy to see Ethan and Sonny spends the week testing Ethan. One of Ethan’s assignments is to follow Lucy and report back to Sonny. Ethan says he won’t kill Sidwell because he knows Sonny has a plan for him; Dante is looking for Liz to see if they still have chemistry - they do. Liz gets insulted by Cullum but then gets all professional on him; James kicks a chair in Sidwell’s direction - better get that orange belt quick, James! Liesl calls Nathius when he’s already at Bobbie’s to drag him and James over to The Metro Court for sundaes. She also wants him to have an elaborate celebration party but Nina tones it down.
VAL, THEN CARLY, THEN ANNA, THEN JACK: Val realizes Cullum must be responsible for Anna’s breakdown. He calls the hospital, disguises his voice as Dr. Kevin Collins, and checks on his patient. However, Cullum finds out the call is coming from inside the house - the Port Charles house - and wants to track down who made that call. Carly and Val argue about making dinner so she goes to the market and buys everything he needs for a steak dinner. If Carly is NOT a cook, how would she know what ingredients he would need? He fills her in about cosplaying Kevin and she thinks he’s still in love with Anna. They fight some more, then give into their passion just as Brennan finds out from Joss all the info he’s been missing - that Carly is with another man. He promptly busts in on her naked in bed, with suit clothing at her feet.
HARSH!: Britt pulls Rocco away from Cullum’s room when he gets curious and yells at him (almost right outside Cullum’s door). Liz comes along and misinterprets the situation and lays into Britt, who tells her she’s just trying to protect Rocco. Meanwhile, Willow convinces Liz she’s misinterpreting Drewfus’ cries for help and that he is just frustrated.
AVA’S ONCE A WEEK APPEARANCE: It’s sad that the writers can’t think of anything to do with Ava and she’s relegated to this very non-interesting triangle with Lucy and Jens. What’s the point of all this?
QUID PRO QUO: Dante lets Joss know that not only does he know she’s WSB, he won’t give her any info unless she gives him some info. Joss stomps out in a huff.
NATHAN NEWS: Nathan gets a little squirrily when James wishes he had a brother and also wonders if Nathan wishes he had a brother. Nathan says he did have a brother in Peter. James meant a good one - one who could act and not overact. Nathan and LuLu have their first argument over Rocco. Nathan also gets caught up that Joss is a spy and wonders why Britt didn’t tell him. By Friday’s end, he’s grabbing Joss and threatening her.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING: Even when Laura tries to talk sense into Curtis, he doesn’t really listen. Portia spills to Curtis that Isaiah DID go out the night of Jordan’s accident.
STAR!: Trina had a good week. She’s happy, she’s into decorating the nursery (which Portia clears with Curtis that it’s okay for them to go ahead without him), and she’s getting offers from Brook Lynn to start a singing career (only because Brook Lynn had one glass of wine and now her life is chaos and she feels guilty). She even had her boyfriend at her side at The Savoy. And speaking of The Walking Coat Tree…
KAI: Jens Austin Astrup as Kai has improved tremendously since we first saw him last year. A soap will do that to you - it’s sink or swim - he’s finally not sinking. But is it awful that I find him much more appealing when he’s away from Trina and in scenes with other people? Plus - give that actor Anias Anozie a permanent role. He really shined as Derek on MAKE-A-WISH TUESDAY! Give that kid a new kidney!
NEW DAY: Tuesday began a new day in Port Charles.
LULU LEMON HAD A SALE: Justine buys Jordan a pink hoodie so Jordan can make jokes about hiding her face in the hood while she does Yoga. Funny how Sidwell has not visited his star employee yet. Maybe she can wear the hoodie when he does. Dr. Shapiro, based in LA, is a friend of Lucas’ from medical school. Portia asks Lucas to talk to his friend to see if he can consult on Jordan’s case. Jordan’s doctor says it will be a month before they can have surgical discussions. We have to go through another month of this?
COINKIDINK: Isaiah just happens to bang up his SVU and scrape the passenger side of it in the parking garage. Patience, Isaiah.
KRISSY CHECKING IN: First with Lucas, then with Michael.
MICHAEL, OH MICHAEL, WILL YOU EVER GROW UP?: We’ve had almost a year of grownup Michael, now you can feel the writers reverting as Michael comes up with the lamebrain idea of getting Chase to sleep with Willow and that way he can gain control. And right after he worked out an agreement with Willow to let her take the kids to Disney World and he could take them to Hawaii this summer. All because Chase brings her flowers to thank her for helping out with them getting temp custody of baby Phoebe.
ANYTHING ELSE?: Lucas spills the beans about Carly cheating on Brennan to Joss; Alexis talks to Brook Lynn about jumping the line with adoption and private adoption versus public adoption; Besties Liz and Lucas got a scene this week; Charlotte and Jacinda bonded over their dislike of Nina and Willow; Liesl confides in Britt about Felicia asking her to go visit Anna and how it made her start to think about Faison; Dante decides to reopen the investigation into Cullum’s shooting.
THIS WEEK’S LESSON OR “THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM…., PART 2”: Val said it was like Grand Central Station in Carly’s house. But it’s Grand Central Terminal, because that’s where trains terminate. Grand Central Station is a nearby post office. It’s also the subway stop at Grand Central Terminal and can refer to an older, demolished station.
So then why is Penn Station not called Penn Terminal? Penn Station is a brand identifier for the Pennsylvania Railroad. It was called that because Pennsylvania Railroad built, owned and operated the station early on. There are similar Penn Stations in Baltimore and Newark. It is also technically a terminal, but folks agreed it would be called a station. Life’s tricky, I know. It’s a common mistake that people make, but I would think Val, who is a very smart person and also knows geography, would know the correct term.
BRICK: He visits Jordan and makes her feel better with his stories. He also finds out she’s practically wedded to Curtis. He tells her that GH “is top-notch. It’s the best in the business.” What? That’s an odd way of putting it, Brick.
NON-PLOT: Emma and Gio need to get out of this sticky goo we call a non-plot. Michael James Scott is an obstacle the audience has to overcome, not the characters.
FUN FACT: Cody calls the look Brook Lynn gave him when she wanted him to drive her to the station from the camp the “Camp Martha Look”. But didn’t Cody all but forget about that incident when it was originally brought up? Oh, boy!

Great recap as always. Thanks for the geography/history lesson. As a NYer I call it Grand Central Station though lol
I know it is GC Terminal, but the common reference when talking about crowds is station.
Willow knows Isaiah through being a GH nurse.
Yes, what you said about the absurd off-off-off Broadway gig. I said the same thing — “What, is it Monday night?”
Joss needs to relocate to Australia. She has gone past my last nerve. Was she trying to get her mother potentially injured and also arrested?
