May The Fourth Be With You
The Week of June 29-July 3, 2026 (Part 2 - Thursday and Friday)
Whew! So if you’re not exhausted already reading what happened on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, buckle up for Thursday and Friday!
As many parted ways or faced impending challenges and split-second decisions, everyone needed the force (and the fourth) to be with them. Friday, the 3rd showed us the repercussions of this week. And maybe - at last - General Hospital finished a storyline!
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM….:
1.) Harker adds a line after Carly implores him to not kill her, saying, “This will be quick.” This happens often on soaps when they film the ending scene anew the next day.
TRIVIA: Back in the day, soaps would just repeat the scene from the last show and then do a cut into the new material, but now that different directors work on different episodes, the director of yesterday’s episode must get paid because they are showing a scene he directed. So soaps just film the same scene again and therefore variations between the scenes can occur.
2.) Sidwell tells Sonny he will tell the pilot where he is going when they are in the air but the pilot needs to file a flight plan before he can leave the ground.
SMELL MY HAIR: Didn’t you just love it when Sidwell sniffed Justine’s hair? Sonny tried to bargain with Jenz, using himself, but Sidwell wanted none of it. Sonny told Sidwell that Cullum was the one who killed Marco.
Playing off a nod from Justine, Sonny baits Sidwell about the murder of his son, which distracts him enough for Sonny to grab the gun and aim it at Sidwell. Justine stops him from pulling the trigger. She saves Sonny’s life AND Sidwell’s as a single tear falls down Sonny’s cheek. The cops bust in (who called them?) and also find Ava and Ethan.
Ava and Sonny have a moment of peace as she tells him she will go to the hospital with Ethan and that he saved her life. Sonny remarks that “that’s the kind of guy he is” which prompts Ava to respond, “Who knew?”
KICK-ASS JOSS: Joss kicks the guard out the door and slams it while Liesl cuts off the other wire so the guard cannot use the electronic keypad to get back in. Now locked in, Liesl goes to work on undoing her work and when she does, there stands Carly! Right before Harker could kill Carly, Nathan shot him dead. Carly was confused as to whose side he’s on. Nathan gave her the code to the door in the basement (7104) and handed her his gun so she could go save Joss and Liesl while Nathius tries to stop Cullum.
PASSING OUT: Ethan finally passed out from the loss of blood and Ava didn’t know what to do. When she decided to go out and confront Sidwell, Ethan grabbed her and asked her to stay, but slipped up and told her he isn’t the father of Phoebe.
GUNFIGHT AT THE SPOON ISLAND CORRAL:
Cassius fired on all the agents and they responded in kind. Carly tells Joss that Nathan went after Cullum so Joss, with a nod from Liesl, grabbed Carly’s gun and slammed the door as Liesl relocked herself and Carly in the bunker. Joining Cassius above ground, Joss and Cassius share a bonding moment between gunshots after Joss takes out the guard from the bunker as he sneaks up on Cassius.
When Joss sees Cullum taking off in the truck, she asks Cassius to cover her while she goes after him, but gets shot by another guard, who then Cassius promptly shoots dead. Joss pleads with Cassius to go after him but Cullum is RIGHT THERE! He informs Nathan that Britt’s Huntington’s diagnosis was fabricated from the beginning.
Before Joss can crawl to the nearest rifle (from the guard who was shot) Cullum fires off a shot at Cassius after he tells him he will blame the whole thing on Sidwell and him and, in the course of his duty, just had to shoot him to stop him. Cullum pegged Cassius as the fall guy all along and that he is responsible for his sister’s impending death. Cassius responds he would never hurt his sister but Cullum informs him that he knew Cassius would steal the “medication” to get to Britt so he poisoned it. Before passing out, Joss makes a sound which distracts Cullum and she shoots him in the chest.
FILLING YOU IN: Cody has Molly distract James so he can fill Tracy in on what is going on. Tracy says that James has Cody to be there for him. Later, even Tracy indulges in S’mores, made by the masterful James.
A NEW DAY: Friday was a new day in Port Charles and the mess of Thursday was cleaned up as Dante, LuLu and Rocco arrived home, knowing that Cullum is dead. Rocco wondered where Britt was and Dante tells him she’s right here in Port Charles. They explain to Rocco the legal trouble Britt is in but Rocco just wasn’t getting it and blames his parents.
After Rocco storms off, Dante informs LuLu that when he called Mac to tell him they were coming home, Mac told him Nathan was an imposter. LuLu takes the news hard and Dante says there were signs when Cassius broke the chain of evidence and how harsh he was with them. LuLu remembers Maxie said the man who raised Nathan didn’t have anything to do with him but LuLu recalls Cassius saying his dad made him memorize the periodic table. She realizes that the whole relationship was a lie.
Rocco and LuLu talk later and he says he gets what she is saying about Britt, but he still cares about her.
VAUGHN IS BACK: He’s wearing a suit and grilling Britt while Molly is representing Charlotte and Danny as their personal attorney and not the Assistant DA. Apparently, Vaughn wasn’t on a desert island as he seems to be in charge now and meets with Molly and the kids. Charlotte is the one to shoot her mouth off, revealing what she knows about her father. Danny also knows too much and Vaughn cannot confirm or deny anything. After the kids leave, she asks Vaughn if he can arrange a letter or phone call, so the kids know their dads are safe. He agrees to help. Charlotte and Danny are surprised to see Dante back and he fills them in on what’s going on then Vaughn introduces himself and they go to confer in the Interrogation Room.
Charlotte and Danny return to Charlotte’s house and Charlotte says that maybe she should talk to LuLu alone. While Danny waits outside for her, Charlotte asks LuLu to help her with her dad and Danny spots Rocco sneaking off to see Britt and confronts him about Britt covering for him by saying Jason was the shooter when Danny now knows it’s Rocco!
DE-ESCALATING THE SITUATION: Lucas had to offer Carly herbal tea to calm her down when she wasn’t allowed in to see Joss and told her Joss will make a full recovery. She fills him in on what happened at Wyndemere and that she came to the hospital to enlist his help but he was with a patient. Carly fills Lucas in on why Joss joined the WSB. Carly still blames herself and needs to get Joss out. Lucas goes to see Joss later.
TELL HER WHAT YOU TOLD ME: Anna asked Felicia to tell the doctor the story she told her about Nathan, which convinced the doctor that Anna is ready to go home.
As Felicia left her room, Mr. Shakespeare in the Parking Lot himself made an appearance to Anna. Oh, no! Is she still off the deep end?
ENTER “Z”: The moment we’ve all been waiting for - John Oliver enters as the mysterious “Z” (his nom de guerre) with armed guards, promptly shooting a still alive guard who was reaching for his gun, checking Cassius’ pulse and then reassuring a wounded Joss that “Everything is going to be okay. I’m here to help.”
Who knew that when John Oliver said on air on his popular talk/news show on HBO that he wanted to go to GH and Days of our Lives that it would actually happen? Less than four months later, here he is, worked in seamlessly to the canvas (his Days’ stint is happening in August).
The next day, “Z” is at Joss’ bedside when she wakes up. He informs her Cassius is dead. As the sole survivor, Joss has to be debriefed. Smart Joss is wondering why he is not recording this but “Z” wants to go over things with just the two of them, for now. Joss tells the story as flashbacks play out. She inquires how “Z” knew to come to the island and he informs her that Valentin Cassadine made it all the way to Geneva to tell him what was going on.
But Joss is the only witness and she wants Val and Jason released and she will tell her story, making Cullum the hero and Cassius the villiain. “Z” agrees to save face and leaves to send in the debriefing team.
“Z” then goes to Brennan’s office to look for the locked black box. The secretary says she hasn’t seen it since Cullum took over.
She then informs him that someone is there and insistant on seeing him. It’s Carly!! She wants him to get her daughter out of the WSB.
PRISON TALK: After Vaughn confronts Britt, Liesl appears and asks Britt why she never told her about Cassius. Britt apologizes for that and for allowing Liesl to let her think that Nathan was alive. Liesl is disappointed that Britt didn’t come to her to reverse engineer the medicine. She wonders about the future of their relationship. The big lie was Britt letting her mother believe she was dead. Liesl takes from that that Britt doesn’t want her in her life and storms out. Dante is the next to visit and Britt is anxious to be let out but Dante informs her her life is now in the hands of the WSB.

Was that a week or what? What were your thoughts on this very, busy, complicated week? Did it make sense? Have they finally wrapped up The Pikeman/Five Poppies/Cold Fusion story? Let us know in the comments.

You will get no argument from me!
Great summation - it was a LOT, wasn't it?? I'm not entirely sure Cassius is dead -even Z didn't say he was dead but rather that "he didn't make it". Not that Z would be above lying, obviously. So the main plot of Pikeman has to be over in that the cold fusion prototype is no longer in the hands of Cullum and/or Sidwell. On the other hand, it hardly seems the WSB is likely to destroy it but rather hold it for who knows what. Which means it can be stolen whenever Frank decides to resurrect this endless story. Also, let Anna be OK or kill her off. Don't kill US with more Shakespeare in the Parking Lot....please!!!
